JAY-Z has achieved another significant milestone in his illustrious career by earning his third diamond plaque, this time for his iconic collaboration with Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind.”
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced on Wednesday, July 24, that the hit song has reached the impressive benchmark of 10 million equivalent sales in the United States.
This accolade not only marks JAY-Z’s third diamond plaque but also represents Alicia Keys’ first, adding another feather to her cap.
This achievement comes on the heels of JAY-Z’s previous diamond plaques for his collaborations with Kanye West on “N***as In Paris” and Rihanna on “Umbrella.”
“N***as In Paris” had been inching toward the diamond milestone since May 2022, finally crossing the mark in 2023, over a decade after its release in 2011.
