Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince has spoken out after his name surfaced during Young Thug’s ongoing RICO trial, sparking controversy and concern.
During the trial, prosecutors referenced J. Prince while questioning key witness Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland. Under oath, Copeland was asked about statements he had previously made to detectives, in which he suggested that Young Thug was trying to emulate “the J. Prince of Atlanta.”
In response, Copeland appeared dismissive, saying: “I guess. I don’t know. I told you for the 10th time, I’m gonna tell the police anything, and that’s what I did.”
J. Prince did not take kindly to being mentioned in this context. He took to Instagram to share the courtroom footage and express his frustration, stating, “Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-ass people putting my name in their mouth.”
He continued, “But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man’s life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself.”
He concluded his post with a powerful statement: “Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst. #freeyoungthug.”
J. Prince’s comments highlight the sensitivity and complexity of the trial, while also shedding light on the broader issues of racial dynamics and justice in the hip-hop community. As the trial continues, his words have ignited discussions across social media platforms.
