J. Cole, a North Carolina rap star, took a break from his studio sessions in New York City to enjoy a game of basketball with his close-knit Dreamville crew. Despite having experience as a professional overseas player, his latest opponent on the court was someone unexpected – none other than Hollywood legend Adam Sandler.
Last week, J. Cole and his entourage, which included his longtime manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad and producer T-Minus, were spotted biking through the streets of the Big Apple. During their outing, they stumbled upon one of the city’s outdoor basketball courts, where they crossed paths with Adam Sandler.
A video posted on Instagram by a fellow NYC hooper captured the memorable moment when J. Cole and Sandler shot some hoops together. To the surprise of many, the 56-year-old actor showcased his basketball skills by making some impressive shots and delivering crafty assists during the friendly pick-up game.
Former Detroit Pistons star and Slam Dunk Contest winner Hamidou Diallo and viral street baller George Messiah also joined in the basketball fun with J. Cole and Sandler.
The Instagram video’s caption read, “Just a random day in NYC. SB: Adam can hoop. Life Simple ‼️”, emphasizing the unexpected joy of witnessing this unique encounter on the basketball court.
George Messiah expressed his excitement in his own IG post, stating, “Contrary to popular belief – #nyc is a real place! Had a blast with @realcoleworld & @adamsandler for kickin’ it with me and others on a random NYC court. Fun times!”
