Ice Cube, the West Coast rap legend, has once again spoken out about his ongoing feud with former Westside Connection groupmate Mack 10. During his “F*** the Gatekeepers Podcast Tour,” Cube made an appearance on Cam’ron and Ma$e’s sports talk show, It Is What It Is, where he discussed various topics, including the rivalry between his BIG3 basketball league and the NBA.
Cam’ron took the opportunity to inquire about the status of Westside Connection, noting that Cube is often seen with WC but never with Mack 10. In response, Cube clarified that he and Dub (WC) are still connected, as they grew up in the same neighborhood and have been friends since day one. Despite the tension with Mack 10, Cube expressed happiness that Mack still joins him for shows, and they continue to be supportive of each other as artists.
When pressed further about his relationship with Mack, Cube acknowledged the existence of a significant issue between them, referring to it as a “violation that can’t be overlooked.” However, he didn’t delve into the specifics of the matter.
Mack 10 had previously shared his perspective on the mid-2000s split of Westside Connection, attributing it to an altercation with Cube’s brother-in-law, who was allegedly interfering with the group’s affairs. Mack claimed to have raised concerns with Cube multiple times before the situation escalated, emphasizing the importance of resolving the matter.
While there was a verbal argument between Mack and Cube, it didn’t escalate into a physical fight. Despite this, their relationship took a significant hit, and they have not communicated in nearly two decades.
Cube has been reluctant to elaborate on the issue, suggesting that Mack knows the full story but refrains from discussing it publicly. The underlying causes of the feud remain undisclosed.
