Gunna, Lil Uzi Vert, and Young Thug are being sued over the “Strawberry Peels” sample, a Wheezy-produced track that appeared on 2020’s Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World 2 project.
According to TMZ, Sun City Publishing is reportedly accusing the rappers and the producer of using an unauthorized sample of Black-out’s 1995 record “Dim da Lights,” featuring Lil E and Lil’ Slim.
The company points out that “Strawberry Peels” garnered more than 39 million streams on Spotify and over 4 millions plays on YouTube. The track has generated about seven figures since being released. The company is seeking at least $1 million in damages.
