A Florida man posing as a nurse was exposed after the family of retired U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant Kensworth Moody grew suspicious following his death.
Julien Williams cared for Moody, 69, in Fleming Island for a month before the veteran passed away from natural causes on October 13. Authorities later discovered Williams had no medical qualifications… his fiancée, Alexiea Irwin, allegedly falsified his application while working at BrightStar Care in Jacksonville.
“Julien Williams was not trained as a home health aide nor was he trained as a nurse. He was not licensed as a nurse,” Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook stated in a Facebook video. Despite this, Williams was placed in charge of providing 24-hour skilled care to Moody, who was battling kidney disease.
Williams and Irwin face multiple fraud and identity theft charges. U.S. Marshals arrested them in Michigan on March 17, and they await extradition to Florida. Officials urge anyone with information to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
