Two men have admitted guilt in connection with a 2023 home invasion attempt in which they falsely claimed to be law enforcement officers.
Davante Leach pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary and received a sentence of nearly five years in prison.
His co-defendant, Lonzell King, entered guilty pleas to attempted first-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
King has agreed to a 77-month prison sentence, which is awaiting final approval from a judge.
According to investigators, security footage captured the suspects identifying themselves as Seattle police officers while attempting to break down a residential front door.
The situation escalated when the homeowner… armed and inside the house… fired a shot through the door, forcing the suspects to flee.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured during the incident. Auburn police credited the homeowner’s quick response and the surveillance video with helping bring the case to a close.
