Erykah Badu, a prominent R&B legend, recently drew attention to some perceived style resemblances with Beyoncé, suggesting that Beyoncé might have taken inspiration from Badu’s signature type of headwear.
On a Sunday, Badu shared an image on her Instagram Stories of Beyoncé at her latest Renaissance Tour performance in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Beyoncé and her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, were seen wearing bedazzled “IV” jerseys and knee-high boots, accompanied by JAY-Z’s wife donning a striking metallic, wide-brimmed hat.
Given that shimmering, wide-brimmed hats have long been Erykah Badu’s iconic look. She couldn’t help but express some skepticism about Beyoncé’s choice of headwear.
She wrote “Hmmm” below the picture of Bey’s outfit and followed it up with another image of herself performing in a hat similar to the one worn by the former Destiny’s Child singer, humorously remarking, “I guess I’m everyone’s stylist. favorite chrome mirror hat.”
