A South African couple received the surprise of a lifetime when their Ring doorbell camera captured an African elephant casually strolling up their driveway for a midnight snack.
Deon Geldenhuys and his wife, Kim Smith, live near a wildlife estate, making their home a hotspot for unexpected animal visitors. Their security footage shows the massive elephant pausing in their driveway before effortlessly breaking off tree branches to munch on.
But this isn’t the first time their cameras have caught breathtaking wildlife encounters. Deon once spotted a lioness casually walking past his study in broad daylight. Other incredible sightings captured on their security system include a giraffe stretching for treetop leaves, a civet indulging in a snack, and even a porcupine boldly displaying its quills.
Living so close to nature certainly comes with its surprises, and thanks to modern technology, these jaw-dropping moments are now being shared with the world.
