In light of recent events surrounding the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, Chris Brown has taken to social media to address a statement made by Ruffles, a sponsor of the event, regarding his participation.
On February 17, Ruffles issued a statement via social media, clarifying that they had no authority in determining the participants of the game. Ruffles played a sponsorship role in the event but had no input or visibility into the selection process of players or celebrities.
In response, Chris Brown shared his thoughts on Instagram stories, directly tagging the Ruffles account and expressing his discontent with five blue cap emojis.
He voiced his frustration, accusing Ruffles and NBA representatives of being aware of their actions and called for accountability in their business dealings.
Brown’s Instagram story read, “I guess yall tryna save face now! STAND ON BUSINESS. Don’t try to make it look like I’m trippin. YOU AND THE NBA representatives know exactly what yall doin! I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE. YALL KNOW I DONT CHASE CLOUT!
“The only reason they responded is because of all the team breezy fans flooding they sh*t. Stop f**king playing wit me! SEE HOW FAKE THIS SH*T IS… COWARDS!! YALL KNOW DAMN WELL I AINT LYING BECAUSE I NEVER BE ON THIY TYPE OF TIME. These b**ches (@ruffles) Tryna save face!”
Additionally, Brown reposted Ruffles’ official statement along with a viral TikTok clip featuring a toddler expressing disbelief, further emphasizing his disbelief in the situation.
The singer concluded his response by pointing out that Ruffles had disabled comments on their post, suggesting they were avoiding interaction with his fans. He captioned the story, “Turned them comments off I see [eyes emoji, sly face emoji, crying face emoji].”
