Cardi B encountered an unexpected situation on Sunday evening (Jun. 4) following her electrifying performance at Summer Jam. While accompanied by her team, the NYC icon found themselves trapped in an elevator when it suddenly came to a halt, leaving them confined inside the compact space.
Despite the tight squeeze, Cardi B managed to maintain her composure and shared the incident with her extensive following of 165 million on Instagram Live. “We’re genuinely stuck in an elevator. It’s unbelievable!” she exclaimed, emphasizing the severity of their predicament. However, the Grammy Award winner remained calm and reassured her team, “Alright, I’m not going to panic.”
After approximately ten minutes of being stuck, Cardi B reminded herself to breathe and humorously acknowledged their duration in the elevator. “We’ve been in here for ten minutes. Trapped in this darn elevator. Let me take a moment to breathe,” she expressed. “I’m starting to get a little excited.” As time passed, Cardi B’s lightheartedness persisted. She playfully remarked, “You know what I should have done today? I should have just stayed home, but this lady decided to venture outside.” Additionally, she humorously referenced a line from her latest single with Latto, “Put It On Da Floor Again,” saying, “Rescue me from this elevator. I’ve been acting different.”
Fortunately, the group was promptly rescued, and approximately 15 minutes later, Cardi B and her crew emerged to a swarm of paparazzi. Prior to the elevator incident, Cardi B headlined Summer Jam and delivered a captivating performance featuring guest appearances by Latto and GloRilla.
