Cam’ron, the outspoken Dipset rapper, recently found himself in a heated encounter with Ben Simmons at a Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets game. Known for his candid opinions on the Australian point guard’s position on the Nets roster, Cam’ron shared the details of the tense run-in on his sports show, “It Is What It Is.”
During the latest episode of the show, Cam’ron recounted the incident, expressing surprise at seeing Ben Simmons at the game and jokingly admitting he had forgotten that Simmons played basketball. The rapper described approaching Simmons near the VIP entrance after the game and the awkward exchange that followed.
Cam’ron shared, “I was walking towards him, and I didn’t want to engage in a pointless confrontation. I thought, ‘I don’t want to have an ice grill contest with Ben Simmons; this is just stupid.'” Despite the tension, the situation didn’t escalate, with Simmons walking past Cam’ron.
In a message to Simmons, Cam’ron urged honesty, stating, “If you don’t like what I say, just let me know. Say, ‘Yo Cam, I wasn’t feeling that.’ We can keep it moving without playing games.”
However, Cam’ron issued a warning, indicating his readiness to make Simmons’ life uncomfortable for the rest of the season. He mentioned buying tickets behind the Nets’ bench and even threatened to target Simmons’ knees to sideline him for multiple seasons. The rapper emphasized, “Those ain’t the games to play and live in New York at the same time. Stop playing games, B.”
