In a recent surprising turn of events, Damian Lillard bid farewell to his 11-year journey with the Portland Trail Blazers as he embarks on a new chapter with the Milwaukee Bucks.
This momentous trade, announced on September 27, has sent ripples of excitement throughout the rap and celebrity community, particularly due to the prospect of Lillard teaming up with the two-time NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Shortly after the trade revelation, Cam’ron took to Instagram to personally confirm the news. In an Instagram video, the Dipset rapper shared that he had communicated directly with Lillard through text messages.
Cam’ron stated, “So I just got the text from Damian Lillard myself. It’s true, he’s going to the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s no sources that you have to say that’s been told to you.”
He went on to express his congratulations, saying, “I actually spoke to Dame via text. He’s going to the Milwaukee Bucks. Congratulations, Dame Lillard. Let’s go get that Championship, n***a.”
Even Snoop Dogg, a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan, couldn’t contain his excitement. He shared his support for Damian Lillard’s move to the Bucks, acknowledging the shift from the Western to the Eastern Conference.
Snoop stated, “Dame Lillard to the Bucks? That’s good,” he said. “Going to the East, nephew. Ball out. You got Giannis on your squad now. Ugh! The East just got nasty. Lakers, we know what we gon’ do. But congrats to my nephew, Dame Lillard. Dame Time. Go get yours, nephew.”
Snoop also praised the NBA for enabling players to achieve their goals and added a playful touch, saying, “I love it when a baller get his money. Go get to where he tryna get to. Good looking out, NBA. Bucks. I like bucks. Big bucks. No whammies.”
It’s worth noting that Snoop Dogg had previously collaborated with Lillard, who also goes by the name Dame D.O.L.L.A., on the 2020 track “Kobe” – a heartfelt tribute to the late Lakers legend.
