Cam’ron and Ma$e have recently disclosed that they were given the chance to accompany Mike Tyson to the ring for his upcoming boxing match against Jake Paul, but they decided to decline the offer.
During an episode of It Is What It Is that aired on Tuesday, May 28, Cam’ron shared the reasons behind their decision to pass up the opportunity, even before Tyson’s recent mid-flight health scare.
“They offered us the walkout with Mike Tyson,” Cam’ron explained. “This was before the incident, and I was already unsure about it. Now, I’m definitely not going to do it.
“I don’t want people blaming me if things go wrong. When Devin Haney lost to Ryan Garcia, people blamed his choice of shoes. If we walk Mike out and he doesn’t win, I don’t want that kind of pressure.”
Ma$e, co-host of the show, expressed skepticism about Tyson’s reported ulcer flare-up, implying it might be an “escape plan” from his match against the much younger Jake Paul.
“I hope Mike is well, but it sounds like he’s looking for a way out,” Ma$e said. “I know he shouldn’t need one, but if they took him off the plane, we need to ensure he’s okay. Are we still having a fight or not?”
“Before this incident, I believed Mike would win the fight. Now, I’m not so sure,” he added.
