After nearly a decade of courtroom drama and public headlines, Brad Pitt is finally speaking out about the conclusion of his high-profile divorce from Angelina Jolie… and his reaction may surprise you.
The long-running legal dispute between the former Hollywood power couple officially wrapped in December 2024. But in a recent interview with GQ, Pitt seemed unfazed by the final legal stamp, calling it “just something coming to fruition. Legally.” When asked if he felt any relief now that the divorce was finalized, the Fight Club star replied with a casual, “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing.”
Representatives for both Pitt and Jolie have remained silent on the matter, not offering any official statements.
Jolie initially filed for divorce back in 2016, citing a reported incident aboard a private jet… an alleged altercation that sparked an FBI investigation. Pitt denied the allegations, and the investigation concluded without any charges.
The actor’s remarks come on the heels of a public appearance with his girlfriend, 32-year-old jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, at the 2024 British Grand Prix. The couple was seen together publicly for the first time, prompting questions about the timing. Pitt, however, brushed off the idea of it being a strategic move.
“No, dude, it’s not that calculated,” he laughed. “How exhausting would life be if you had to make those kinds of calculations every day? Life just evolves. Relationships evolve.”
Pitt and de Ramon confirmed their relationship in 2022 while he was still navigating the final phases of his split from Jolie. Since then, she has accompanied him to several public events, signaling a deepening connection.
Back in December, following the final agreement, Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, confirmed the settlement. He emphasized how long and emotional the process had been for the Maleficent actress and her children.
“Angelina filed for divorce more than eight years ago,” Simon stated. “She and the children left the shared properties and focused on healing and peace. This marks the end of one chapter in a long journey. She’s exhausted but relieved it’s finally over.”
Jolie and Pitt share six children… Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne… many of whom have been at the center of the media storm surrounding their split.
