Bow Wow has made a public attempt to reconcile with his estranged mentor, Jermaine Dupri, at the Lovers & Friends Festival held on May 6 in Los Angeles. However, the interaction didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped.
In a video posted on Bow Wow’s Instagram page on May 8, the rapper-turned-actor can be seen trying to befriend the super-producer backstage, but Dupri appears to be unimpressed by his playful gesture, even as Bow Wow tries to shove him.
The video captures the shouts of some onlookers urging the duo to hug each other again, suggesting that the pair had already reconciled before the cameras started rolling.
Bow Wow, who had joined The Baller Alert Show last month to discuss his complicated relationship with JD, wrote in the caption: “I’ll be the bigger person…… IM FOLLOWING U AGAIN @jermainedupri. hey it’s a step …1st time speaking all year #loversandfriends #recap.”
During the interview with The Baller Alert Show, Bow Wow revealed that he and JD had spoken face-to-face and made a pact not to discuss their feud publicly anymore. He likened their relationship to that of Obi-Wan and Anakin in Star Wars, where the young protege Anakin, played by Bow Wow in this analogy, is always ready to go out and get things done but is held back by the veteran Obi-Wan, portrayed by JD.
Bow Wow also disclosed that his falling out with JD was so bad that Nelly had to mediate their meeting at the studio last month.
Despite the recent public attempt to reconcile, it remains to be seen whether Bow Wow and JD will truly resolve their differences and mend their relationship. Fans of the duo and lovers of hip-hop culture will undoubtedly keep a close eye on any further development in this ongoing feud.
