In a fresh musical release, Boosie Badazz directs his lyrical prowess towards Kodak Black, alluding to a shared history between the two artists.
Boosie, hailing from Baton Rouge, unveiled his latest album, titled “Goin Thru Some Thangs,” on August 15. One of the tracks featured in this album is the pointedly titled “Ungrateful.”
Taking center stage in the final verse of the song, Boosie takes the opportunity to address recent exchanges with Kodak Black, specifically referencing the Florida native’s collaboration with 6ix9ine.
Boosie contends that Kodak Black’s reputation in the streets has been tarnished and suggests that the authenticity of his lyrical content is questionable.
“I’ve been going through some shit, man, this shit done got deep/ Gotta realize everybody ain’t G/ How the fuck you do that when you represent the streets?/ Streets made you and the streets made me/ If you ask B.G., you was on PC/ The name that you got, I think you got that from me.”
Boosie goes on to highlight the potential disillusionment of Kodak Black’s fan base, pointing out that the street credibility once associated with him has seemingly eroded.
“Your fans all mad acting like they can’t see/ Your street cred gone, n***a, don’t blame me/ Sh**, your homeboy right, you ain’t living like that/ Everything that you rap, you ain’t never did that/ ‘Cause the other n***a talking, he a certified rat/ Your codefendant been give me your paperwork, n***a.”
He then recalls his own contributions to their shared artistic path: “I gave you a video and verse, n***a, for the free/ When you was tryna pay a n***a, b***h, I’m a G/ Thought Turk felt the same way (God damn), ’cause we all from the same place (Louisiana).”
This track marks Boosie’s latest commentary on the evolving landscape of hip-hop culture, reflecting on not just artistic rivalry but also deeper resonances between artists’ journeys and their chosen personas. With this new release, Boosie once again underlines his ability to craft lyrics that delve into intricate dynamics within the industry and personal histories.
