In a recent interview on Shade 45, Boosie Badazz, the legendary Baton Rouge artist, opened up about his most memorable live performance, attributing it to the late great DMX. Boosie Badazz, then a fourteen-year-old, attended the Hard Knock Life Tour, his first major concert, and was profoundly moved by DMX’s awe-inspiring stage presence.
Recalling the event, Boosie Badazz expressed, “Without a doubt, the best performer I’ve ever witnessed live was DMX. His performance made such a deep impact on me that it brought me to tears when I was just 14 years old.” He further revealed that his uncle accompanied him to the concert, which took place in Jacksonville, Florida. Notably, the concert featured JAY-Z as the opening act.
As the set progressed, the intensity of DMX’s performance overwhelmed Boosie and his cousin to the point of emotional vulnerability. Clinging to one another for solace, they found themselves in tears by the end of the show. “When DMX delivered that prayer during the finale, my cousin and I held hands, and we couldn’t help but shed tears,” shared Boosie.
Reflecting on the concert, Boosie Badazz emphasized the profound impact it had on him as a young teenager. “It was my first major concert experience, and witnessing something of that magnitude was unlike anything I had ever seen before,” he explained.
