In a bold move, Benzino has affirmed his commitment to addressing Eminem’s recent provocations, and he’s not going at it alone.
On January 27, the former head of The Source, Benzino, utilized Instagram to announce his imminent response to Eminem’s biting “Doomsday Pt. 2” diss, assuring fans it will be delivered within the next 24 hours.
“NO JUMPER INTERVIEW DROPS AT 6 @adam22 RESPONSE TO DOOMSDAY IN 24 HOURS. [grin emoji],” he shared alongside a video clip featuring a memorable scene from The Godfather: Part III.
In the movie snippet, Al Pacino states, “I’m a businessman, first and foremost. I want no further conflict.”
However, this peculiar response garnered skepticism from fans who doubted Benzino’s ability to deliver on his promise. One user remarked, “It’s been a full 24 hours. Your [ghost, writer emoji] must still be in the lab. For hip-hop’s sake, don’t release Melle Mel’s response.”
“LMFAO, I’m about to peep this. I know his behind about to be salty af in that interview [laughing emoji],” read another comment. Eminem recently revived his long-standing feud with Benzino, originating in the mid-’00s, by poking fun at his financial troubles and physical stature.
Over a sample of Em’s classic hit “Role Model,” he raps: “Now I got a riddle, one condition, you mustn’t laugh/ What is the opposite of Benzino? A giraffe/ ‘Go at his neck,’ how the f**k is that?/ How can I go at somethin’ he doesn’t have?”
Continuing, he adds: “Arm so short he can’t even touch his hands/ When they’re up above his head doin’ jumpin’ jacks/ Sorry, I don’t mean to upset you, Ben/ When I talk about all the debt you’re in/ I hear that you’ve been creepin’ on the low/ In those budget hotels that they catch you in.”
