A small dog in Arizona is safe and sound after spending days trapped in a 10-foot-deep sinkhole… until a passing utility worker heard its desperate barks for help. The dramatic rescue unfolded in Prescott Valley when a utility worker nearly stumbled into the sinkhole himself. As he steadied himself, he realized the sound of barking was coming from deep below. Peering inside, he was stunned to find a stranded dog, unable to escape.
Shocked to find the stranded pup, he called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Animal Control. A responding officer borrowed a ladder, climbed down, and carried the dog to safety… capturing the heartwarming rescue on video.
The dog may have injured its front legs and was taken for medical care. Authorities are still searching for its owner.
