The rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark is far from over. In a heated moment during the game, Reese delivered a hard foul on Clark as she attempted a layup, striking her in the head.
This incident took place just recently with Clark’s Indiana Fever leading 63-62 against the Chicago Sky in the third quarter. As Clark drove to the basket, Reese’s foul sent her crashing to the floor.
Initially, the foul appeared to be just a tough play, but the referees paused the game to review the footage. Upon closer inspection, a different camera angle revealed the intensity of the hit.
In the clip, Reese is seen swiping at the ball from behind but misses the block entirely, instead hitting Clark squarely in the face. The officials deemed the foul excessive, assigning Reese a flagrant 1 but allowing her to remain in the game.
Interestingly, on the very next possession for the Fever, Reese fouled Clark again, which was her fourth foul, resulting in her being benched for the remainder of the quarter.
