Akon was briefly jailed in Georgia after police arrested him on a bench warrant tied to a suspended driver’s license. The “Locked Up” rapper was taken into custody by Chamblee police on November 7 and booked into DeKalb County Jail before being released the same day.
The warrant stemmed from a September incident when officers found Akon’s Tesla Cybertruck stranded in the road. Police later discovered his license had been suspended for failure to appear in court.
Akon’s rep says the situation was a clerical mix-up and is being resolved.
