A rare deep-sea fish with a large mouth and fang-like teeth was found in the city of Laguna Beach, California, minutes after a mysterious tremor was recorded.
A Long-Snouted Lancetfish (Alepisaurus Ferox) is what this rare deep-sea fish is. The Alepisaurus Ferox is a carnivorous species with a long, high dorsal fin that inhabits the ocean between 200 and 1,000 meters in depth.
These fish can be as long as 1.8 meters. The fish appeared after an unconfirmed seismic event recorded on November 15 in Southern California and was defined by locals as a sonic boom. The fish was safely returned to the ocean.
