In the ongoing feud between Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis, 50 Cent has shared his thoughts on a startling accusation, lending credence to Davis’ claims while also seizing the opportunity to throw a few jabs of his own.
On Saturday, April 27, 50 Cent took to Instagram to showcase tweets from Davis, who didn’t hold back in targeting Mayweather, suggesting that Mayweather required “a wire” to return “home.”
Davis had just made a bold assertion: Mayweather was allegedly being held captive in Dubai. According to Davis’ Instagram post, Mayweather was purportedly unable to leave Dubai due to allegations of mishandling funds: “[He’s] in Dubai and can’t leave becuz he been taking n***as money and not doing what they paid him to do.”
50 Cent seemed to validate Davis’ claim, expressing, “Oh nah this sh*t is real. Davis would not say no sh*t like that if it wasn’t official. Me and Champ Mayweather be beefing but he my brother. I got some money if he need it!”
The tension between the two boxers escalated after “Pretty Boy Floyd” implied earlier in the week that other fighters were imitating his flamboyance without putting in the requisite effort. Davis interpreted this as a direct insult and retaliated with his hostage allegation.
While Mayweather’s social media activity confirms his presence in Dubai earlier this month, there is no concrete evidence supporting the assertion that he is being detained there.
