A man accused of orchestrating a massive Medicaid fraud scheme in Minnesota is now on the run after failing to appear in court.
Authorities say Abdirashid Ismail Said disappeared ahead of a scheduled hearing tied to allegations he helped siphon nearly $11 million from the state’s Medicaid system. A judge has since issued a warrant for his arrest and revoked his $150,000 bond.
Prosecutors claim the case involves fraudulent billing practices and fake services, forming the basis of 10 felony charges, including theft and racketeering. Officials also revealed that Said had previously been convicted in a Medicaid fraud case back in 2022.
Law enforcement is actively searching for Said as the investigation continues.
