In a shocking turn of events, YSL RICO case defense attorney Anastasios Manettas was arrested in court for allegedly bringing pills into the Fulton County courthouse and throwing his cell phone at a deputy. The incident occurred during a security search of Manettas’ bag, and he was subsequently handcuffed in court.
Manettas is being charged with multiple offenses, including simple battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction and disrupting court proceedings, and possession of pills not in their original container. However, Attorney Suri Chadha Jimenez has disputed that Manettas deliberately threw his phone at the deputy, claiming it was an accident.
Manettas represents Miles “Slato” Farley, one of the 28 individuals listed in the indictment for alleged gang activities last year. This arrest comes just one day after defendant Rodalius Ryan was escorted out of the courtroom for allegedly possessing marijuana and causing a disruption to court proceedings by yelling from his holding cell.
YSL RICO case has been highly controversial and has seen several incidents in court. Recently, a video of YSL attorney Justin Hill calling “cap” on Judge Glanville went viral, and a potential juror was sentenced to three days in jail for filming with their phone in the courtroom.
The defendants in the case have been accused of being part of the Young Slime Life gang, which allegedly “terrorized” the city of Atlanta for years. Given the complicated nature of the proceedings and the number of people involved, the final decision in the case could take over a year.
Despite the controversy surrounding the case, it is crucial to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and the legal process must be allowed to take its course.
