The murder trial of Memphis rapper Young Dolph has taken a dramatic turn as new details surface, linking the tragic 2021 killing to a conspiracy involving Yo Gotti’s brother.
During opening statements, prosecutors revealed shocking allegations that Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, Yo Gotti’s brother, placed a $100,000 hit on Dolph, further deepening the mystery behind the high-profile case.
On Monday, September 23, Justin “Straight Drop” Johnson, one of the suspects accused in Young Dolph’s murder, stood trial. According to Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman, Johnson, along with Cornelius Smith, met with Big Jook before the fatal shooting.
Hagerman’s statement to the jury, as reported by Memphis’ Fox 13, indicated that Big Jook, a major player in Yo Gotti’s CMG label, offered $100,000 for the murder.
“Big Jook, the number two man at CMG, put out a hit for $100,000 on Young Dolph,” Hagerman claimed. “He met with Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, and they believed they were ready to carry it out.”
Hagerman also highlighted that Johnson, an aspiring rapper, sought the financial reward to help fund his music career. This revelation has added another layer of intrigue to the already controversial case, leaving fans and followers eager to see how the trial unfolds.
As the trial continues, the focus remains on uncovering the truth behind Young Dolph’s untimely death and the alleged involvement of Yo Gotti’s family in the fatal conspiracy.
