Hip-hop icon Xzibit has made a major career move, surprising fans by signing with Conor McGregor’s Greenback Records for his upcoming album Kingmaker, marking his first full project in over a decade.
The label, founded by UFC legend Conor McGregor, is gearing up for a massive release in 2025, and Xzibit is leading the charge. Greenback Records took to social media to break the news, writing, “In the kingdom of hip-hop, only the real ones reign supreme. A legend joins the Greenback dynasty ready to make history. We proudly welcome @xzibit to Greenback Records – the new chapter starts here.”
McGregor himself chimed in, expressing his excitement about bringing Xzibit on board. “We’ve signed hip-hop legend Xzibit. X to the Z, my man, welcome to the team. We’re beyond thrilled to represent you and can’t wait to get started. As Xzibit says in one of his iconic tracks, ‘We got it fully crackin’ and poppin’ with no signs of stoppin’.’”
Fans won’t have to wait long for a taste of what’s to come. In the lead-up to the album’s release, Xzibit will drop two singles—”Play This at My Funeral” on October 11, followed by “Been a Long Time Pt. 2” on October 25.
While the exact release date for Kingmaker remains under wraps, it is expected to drop in early 2025. This will be Xzibit’s first album since 2012’s Napalm. Known for his candid thoughts on the current state of hip-hop, Xzibit’s return is highly anticipated.
Joining Greenback Records also places Xzibit alongside other legends like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, signaling the label’s growing influence in the hip-hop world.
Fans are eager to see what this powerful partnership between a rap heavyweight and an MMA champion-turned-mogul will bring to the music scene.
