Rapper Wiz Khalifa is under investigation for high-risk drug possession after being caught with cannabis by Romanian authorities, officials have confirmed.
On Saturday, July 14, prosecutors from the Constanța Territorial Service launched a criminal case against the famous rapper, as reported by the local CNN affiliate Antena3.
The incident occurred during Wiz Khalifa’s performance at the “Beach, Please!” festival in Costinești, Constanța County, where he was found with over 18 grams of cannabis. Authorities also allege that Khalifa openly smoked a large joint on stage.
“Beach, Please!” is one of Southeast Europe’s biggest urban festivals, featuring a lineup of known artists like Travis Scott and drawing an estimated 200,000 attendees this year.
Ironically, the festival also launched an anti-drug campaign led by co-founder Andrei Șelaru, known as Selly, in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI).
Videos of a composed Wiz Khalifa being escorted to jail quickly surfaced on social media. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison for the drug charges.
