A desperate search is underway for 9-year-old Melina Galanis Frattolin, who authorities believe is in imminent danger following her reported abduction Saturday night in Lake George, New York.
According to New York State Police, Melina was last spotted around 9:40 p.m. near Exit 22 on I-87. An Amber Alert was issued shortly afterward, citing serious concerns for the child’s safety.
“The circumstances surrounding her disappearance suggest she may be at risk of serious injury or death,” the alert states.
Melina is described as a 5-foot-tall girl with brown eyes and brown hair, weighing approximately 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing light-colored shorts, a black and white striped shirt, and white Adidas sneakers.
Details surrounding who she was with or the exact situation leading to the abduction have not been released at this time.
