Uncle Luke, the legendary frontman of 2 Live Crew, is making waves with his latest demand: compensation from Ice Spice, Megan Thee Stallion, and other female rappers who he believes are profiting from the path he paved in Hip Hop.
In a fiery video shared over the weekend, Uncle Luke expressed his frustration with the current state of male rap, while praising the dominance of female rappers. However, he insists these women owe him recognition—and a check—for the freedom of expression he fought for in the genre.
“Male rap is on some bullsh*t right now, I’m sorry. The females are winning. They’re doing everything that I did. I’m still waiting for these girls to send me a f**king check,” he stated bluntly.
He didn’t mince words when it came to specific artists, calling out Ice Spice for her provocative performances and Megan Thee Stallion for her explicit lyrics. “I need a check from Ice Spice who turns her a** around, dropping it like it’s hot and doo-doo browning.
I need a check from Megan Thee Stallion. Anybody that’s running around shaking their a**es, talking about pu**y and d**k on the record — y’all need to send me a check,” he demanded.
While Uncle Luke mentioned he doesn’t expect compensation from everyone, specifically noting his friendship with Sexyy Red, he was adamant that today’s leading female artists acknowledge his influence.
“Just stop by with the check and say, ‘Thank you, Uncle Luke, for fighting, going to the Supreme Court, allowing us to be able to say what we saying on the records,’” he added.
