In a bold and unexpected declaration, Trick Daddy has voiced his frustration over Florida’s looming restrictions on PornHub, threatening to leave his beloved home state if the ban goes into effect.
The Miami rap legend didn’t hold back during an Instagram Live session, making his stance crystal clear.
“If y’all take PornHub off the internet in Florida, I’m out of here,” the 50-year-old rapper exclaimed passionately. “I love y’all, but if they take PornHub out of Florida, I’m out of here, I swear to God. I’m gone. 14 days.”
The rapper even joked about what Florida would lose in his absence, affirming: “If you get rid of PornHub, it’s a Florida without the Trick Daddy Dollar.”
Starting January 1, 2025, Floridians may find themselves unable to access PornHub due to a new state law requiring age verification for adult content platforms.
The legislation mandates users to prove they’re 18 or older by submitting government-issued identification, a move that has stirred up significant backlash.
PornHub, the world’s largest adult entertainment website, has pushed back, refusing to comply with the law and preemptively blocking access in 12 other states, including Texas, Louisiana, and Virginia. Florida could soon join the list, leaving countless users… and apparently Trick Daddy… fuming.
A coalition of adult content providers has filed a lawsuit challenging the law, arguing it infringes on free speech rights. Meanwhile, PornHub remains firm in its stance, citing privacy concerns as the primary reason for resisting the legislation.
In a statement on its website, PornHub explained its position: “Did you know that your government wants you to give your driver’s license before you can access PORNHUB? As crazy as that sounds, it’s true.”
The platform further emphasized its commitment to preventing minors from accessing adult content while safeguarding user privacy: “We don’t want minors accessing our site and think preventing that from happening is a good thing. But putting everybody’s privacy at risk won’t achieve that.”
The potential ban has struck a nerve with Trick Daddy, who has never been shy about speaking his mind. For now, the rapper seems serious about his vow to leave Florida, a state synonymous with his career and persona.
Whether this new law will truly drive him out remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: his words have added another layer of intensity to the ongoing debate.
