Los Angeles prosecutors have moved quickly in the shooting death of emerging Latin singer Maria De La Rosa… known to fans as DELAROSA… announcing that three men have now been charged with her murder.
According to L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, the suspects… Francisco Otilio Gaytan, 27; Benny LiconGomez, 27; and Eduardo Lopez, 21… are all Northridge residents and are accused of carrying out a planned, ambush-style attack early Saturday morning.
Investigators say the group allegedly approached a parked vehicle on Bryant Street in Northridge around 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 22, demanded money, and then opened fire. DELAROSA, who was inside the car with two friends, was tragically shot and killed. Her companions were left physically unharmed.
Gaytan and LiconGomez are now in custody, prosecutors confirmed. An active warrant has been issued for Lopez, who remains wanted in connection with the killing. All three face one count of murder and two counts of attempted second-degree robbery.
DELAROSA’s death has left fans and the Latin music community in shock, as many mourn a young star whose career was just beginning to rise.
