We don’t mean the usual hybrid cars you see driving around now when we say hybrid car. The AirCar is the hybrid of all cars because it is part car, part aircraft. Yes, we said part aircraft because this car can fly in the sky just like any other aircraft. The only thing is you have to be or have a licensed pilot to fly it.
Slovakia’s aviation regulators have cleared the hybrid craft for takeoff. Professor Stefan Klein and his eponymous firm have worked on this dream for more than 30 years. The AirCar can fly up to 8,200 feet at a top speed of 118 mph.
If you don’t feel like flying and you just want to cruise around, The AirCar turns back into a very cool sports car in just 2 minutes and 15 seconds.
“AirCar certification opens the door for mass production of very efficient flying cars,” Klein said in a statement. “It is official and the final confirmation of our ability to change mid-distance travel forever.”
