The Large Emerald moth (Geometra Papilionaria) is a large bright green attractive moth with a wingspan of 50-65mm. Adult Large Emerald moths rest with their wings spread and raised at an angle similar to a butterfly. They fly at night and are attracted to light but occasionally fly up to the top of trees.
Their main habitat is woodland, scrubby heathland, grassland, parks, and gardens. They are indeed a beauty to see, and they’re sure to warm your heart.
