The Large Copper Butterfly (Lycaena Dispar) can be found in Europe and the Netherlands and spotted in the United Kingdom. Sadly, the Large Copper butterfly is declining in many European countries due to habitat loss.
They have rapid flight patterns and periodically settle to bask on thistle or dock leaves. Their primary habitat has been drained for agricultural and other land usages, limiting their habitat. The British subspecies of this butterfly have been extinct since 1864.
