The Indian Giant Squirrel is a large tree squirrel with multiple colors. The Indian Giant Squirrel also goes by the name Malabar Giant Squirrel. These beautiful squirrels are located in woodlands and forests in India. The Indian Giant Squirrel is one of the biggest squirrels measuring 25-50cm (10 in – 1 ft 8 in) head and body, and the tail is about the same in length.
These colorful squirrels nest in the tallest trees they can find in order to avoid predators. They usually live alone or in pairs and rarely ever leave the trees. They go from tree to tree, jumping 6 m (20 ft), and when in danger, they lay flat against the tree trunk or they freeze. They mainly eat fruit, flowers, nuts, and tree bark.
