The Game, known for his Compton roots, recently stirred controversy by seemingly aligning himself with Drake amidst the ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar. His actions have raised questions about his loyalty to his hometown.
Taking to Instagram on April 16, the Compton rapper shared a video of himself vibing to Drake’s 2015 track “Energy.”
The Game’s caption, quoting one of these lines, read: “I got rap n***as that I gotta act like I like.”
Drake, who recently responded to Kendrick’s “Like That” verse with the diss track “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50),” acknowledged The Game’s apparent support by liking the post.
However, not all of The Game’s followers shared the same sentiment. Some accused him of betraying the West Coast by siding with Kendrick’s long-time rival.
One commenter questioned, “You going against Compton????” while another expressed disappointment, saying, “Man if you go against Compton I’m losing all respect.”
Another commenter humorously suggested that The Game’s actions stemmed from past issues with Dr. Dre, his former label boss, jokingly stating, “Damn… this n***a so mad at Dr. Dre he going against Compton for likes.”
Despite the backlash, The Game has remained silent on the matter.
