The Game recently addressed his absence from Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles, an event that featured numerous West Coast Hip Hop legends.
During an Instagram Live session on Thursday, June 20, the Compton rapper, known for his support of Drake, shared his thoughts on the event. “Regarding the Kendrick and Drake situation, that’s between Kendrick and Drake,” he stated.
“Kendrick do his sh*t and what he did last night was amazing for the West Coast. I sat back and I watched it. I ain’t have to be there, you know what I’m saying? I think it’s a W for the coast.”
“I think what K.Dot did for a lot of West Coast n***as last night was hard as f*ck. I think it was dope of him and big-hearted of him to do that for n***as,” he continued.
The Game added, “Yesterday, when I see what Dot did for the city, I thought that sh*t was amazing. He didn’t have to do that but he did it. As far as my relationship with Drake? Drake is my brother. I f*ck with Drake.”
In his video, The Game didn’t explicitly explain his absence but addressed the criticism he faced online for siding with Drake and his comments about Rick Ross.
The concert saw appearances from prominent West Coast Hip Hop figures like Dr. Dre, Tyler, The Creator, YG, Roddy Ricch, and the TDE roster. Fans noticed The Game’s absence, especially given his previous collaborations with Kendrick Lamar.
