Terrell Owens, the legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver, was ready to step out of retirement and join forces with Tom Brady during the quarterback’s penultimate season.
However, Owens claims that Brady completely ignored his offer, leaving him feeling disrespected and frustrated.
In a candid interview on “The Bubba Dub Show” hosted by The Volume, Owens revealed that he reached out to Brady back in January 2022, shortly after Antonio Brown’s dramatic exit from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during a game against the New York Jets.
Owens believed he could be the perfect replacement for Brown, offering his skills in third-down situations and red zone plays even at 48 years old.
“I reached out to him through Randy Moss and a couple of other people,” Owens shared on the podcast. “Tom Brady ignored me, bro. You know this dude really ignored me, bro.”
Owens’ comments highlight the frustration and disappointment he felt over being overlooked by the NFL’s greatest quarterback.
Despite his age, Owens remains confident in his abilities and believes he could have made a significant impact on the field.
