Prosecutors say 19-year-old Nedas Revuckas carried out a horrifying attack in Downers Grove, Illinois, after becoming angry over the condition of a pickup truck he had purchased from a woman’s husband.
Court records state that Eliza Morales, who was pregnant, was stabbed more than 70 times inside her apartment.
Authorities allege the assault killed both Morales and her unborn child before the suspect set the home on fire in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Investigators say Revuckas directed his rage at Morales despite the dispute being over the vehicle. He is also accused of stabbing the family’s dog during the attack.
Revuckas appeared emotionless in court as a judge ordered him held without release. He now faces multiple charges in connection with the deadly rampage.
