50 Cent is facing renewed controversy as Kenneth McGriff Jr., son of infamous drug kingpin Supreme McGriff, publicly calls for royalties, insisting the rap mogul owes his success to his father’s influence in hip-hop culture.
In a recent interview on Ebro in the Morning, 50 Cent addressed the topic, dismissing the connection: “This kid thinks I’m hot cause of Preme. Nobody knows who that is outside the five boroughs,” 50 claimed, referring to Supreme’s influence.
Shortly after, McGriff Jr. fired back, sharing a clip of the interview on Instagram along with a video rebuttal. “How can you say Preme isn’t a part of your success story?” he questioned.
“Your rise was the story of a man who survived being shot nine times — that’s a script straight out of Hollywood. People bought into that image, but behind the scenes, you were afraid of the real powerhouses like my dad, Jimmy Henchman, and Lil Kim’s baby father.”
McGriff Jr. insisted that his father’s reputation helped fuel 50 Cent’s story. “When I travel, I’m treated like royalty because of who Preme is. He and Jimmy Henchman were critical to your rise,” he continued. “Without that story, you wouldn’t have made it. That early music with Jam Master Jay was trash, and you know it.”
Taking his remarks further, McGriff Jr. didn’t hold back in his Instagram caption, which he claimed 50 Cent will never see due to being blocked. “If it weren’t for Eminem and Dre signing you, no one would care. You should be grateful for my father, Murder Inc., and Henchman for building your story. You owe us 30 percent of all royalties!”
