Solange Knowles has recently shed light on her private struggle with multiple autoimmune disorders, bravely sharing her journey with fans and followers.
In an emotional revelation, Solange detailed her experiences with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Sjögren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), all of which she was diagnosed with back in 2018.
This comes after model and musician Shaun Ross opened up about his own battle with POTS, a condition he attributes to the lingering effects of long COVID.
In response to Ross’s vulnerable post, Solange shared words of empathy and support, reaching out to those who also live with these complex, often invisible illnesses.
“Sending you so much love and strength Shaun and to everyone in the comments dealing with the overwhelming, confusing, and isolating nature of POTS,” she wrote.
Solange described the difficulty of not letting these health challenges define her, acknowledging the support she’s received from the “spoonie community” and resources like Dysautonomia International.
Shaun Ross then took to social media, reflecting on Solange’s reduced public appearances since her diagnosis in 2018, considering whether her conditions contributed to her quieter, more introspective presence.
“It’s so interesting to look back at Solange in 2017… to see the slowdown and change of career pace,” he observed. He speculated that the physical demands of touring and performing may have intensified her health issues.
