Snoop Dogg has high expectations for the actor who will portray him in his upcoming biopic. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 53-year-old rap legend opened up about balancing his hectic schedule, which includes coaching on The Voice and overseeing the casting for the much-anticipated movie based on his life.
The Snoop Dogg biopic, still untitled, was first announced in 2022. Directed by Allen Hughes, known for Menace II Society and Dead Presidents, the film will be scripted by Joe Robert Cole, co-writer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Universal Pictures is behind the project, making it a major Hollywood event.
When asked about finding the perfect actor to play him, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., revealed that the search is still ongoing.
He emphasized that the chosen actor must capture his youthful essence—his rough beginnings and journey of self-discovery.
“I’m searching for someone who can embody the spirit of who I was back then—young, raw, and figuring out my place in the world. That’s going to take a phenomenal actor,” Snoop explained.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see who will take on the role of the rap icon in this exciting new film, which promises to be a powerful portrayal of Snoop Dogg’s rise to fame.
