Snoop Dogg is gearing up to give fans a major nostalgia trip, teasing plans to bring the iconic 213 album and unreleased Nate Dogg music to streaming services through Death Row Records.
During his recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast (aired December 18), Snoop shared his vision of reviving the 213 supergroup’s legacy. He expressed his desire to reacquire the rights to The Hard Way, the sole album from the legendary trio of himself, Nate Dogg, and Warren G, for a remastered release under Death Row.
“I’m getting the 213 album back,” Snoop confidently announced. “TVT Records had it, but they dissolved. They were the first ones to give me a deal for the Eastsidaz and 213. They were real ones, but their label went bankrupt. I want to grab that album, remaster it, and re-release it on Death Row.”
But that’s not all… the Doggfather is also eyeing a treasure trove of unreleased material from the late Nate Dogg, widely regarded as one of the greatest hook masters in hip-hop history.
“Warren G and Fredwreck have a bunch of unreleased Nate Dogg tracks,” Snoop revealed. “Nate was a workhorse. He’d move between Warren G’s and Fredwreck’s studios and even worked with an engineer named Lance. Nate and 2Pac shared the same relentless work ethic, which is why you hear him on so many hooks. He just kept creating hit after hit.”
Snoop went on to hint at the possibility of releasing these tracks through Death Row, adding, “Hell yeah, I’d love to do something with all that music. And I’ve got a beautiful relationship with his mother, Miss Ruth.”
This move aligns with Snoop’s ongoing efforts to preserve and amplify the legacy of West Coast hip-hop. Since acquiring Death Row Records in 2022, he has been dedicated to restoring its catalog and introducing classic gems to a new generation of fans.
With these ambitious plans, Snoop Dogg is ensuring that the contributions of 213 and Nate Dogg will continue to resonate in the digital age. Fans eagerly await the day these timeless tracks hit streaming platforms, promising a wave of nostalgia and celebration of hip-hop history.
