Snoop Dogg has added his signature humor to a brewing feud with Dave Blunts, the 500-pound rapper who made waves at Juice WRLD’s tribute concert by calling out the hip-hop icon during a performance with an oxygen tank in tow.
Dave Blunts, 23, delivered a fiery performance at the Juice WRLD Day 2024 event at Chicago’s United Center over the weekend. Seated on a couch throughout his set, Blunts turned his focus to Snoop Dogg, addressing the crowd before dropping some sharp words for the legendary rapper.
“Aye, Chicago, do y’all have a problem with me sitting down on this stage?” he shouted, prompting cheers from the audience. “Exactly! So get the f*ck off my d*ck, Snoop Dogg.”
Blunts went on to say: “I see the big dog talking. Snoop, you think you funny? You don’t know what it’s like to fight for your life every damn day.”
Snoop Dogg didn’t let the call-out dampen his mood. Instead, he posted a lighthearted reaction video on Instagram, showing himself laughing while watching Blunts’ performance. “That was funny,” Snoop said in the clip. “Go ahead, lil homie… I mean big homie. Do yo thang, cuz, I ain’t messing with you. Have your fun.”
The West Coast legend even poked fun at himself, acknowledging a prior apology to Blunts that didn’t seem to land. “I apologized to this dude, and he’s still going off on me,” Snoop joked. “I must be getting old.”
In true Snoop fashion, he took things further by remixing Blunts’ viral track “The Cup.” The original lyrics, “I can’t put down the cup,” were humorously altered to “I can’t put down the blunt” as Snoop sang along in the video.
Snoop ended his message with an olive branch: “Leave me alone, cuz. I’m trying to enjoy my lil’ life over here. Go keep doing your shows, man. Keep rocking and rolling, man. I’m with you, dawg. I ain’t against you, I’m with you. I can’t put down the blunt, and you can’t put down the cup .”
Dave Blunts’ sharp words seem to have been sparked by a recent comment Snoop made about his size. In response to a viral clip of Blunts performing “The Cup” while seated, Snoop wrote: “Well put down the chicken wings and tata chips Nefew, and that chair gone break soon get to the end of cup.”
