Shannon Sharpe, affectionately known as “Unc,” had an “oldhead” slip-up when he made some explicit comments about Megan Thee Stallion a few months back.
The 56-year-old sports analyst took the opportunity to apologize directly to the Houston rapper during her appearance on his show, Club Shay Shay.
At the start of their conversation, the NFL Hall of Famer expressed his regret. “Meg, before we go any further, I want to apologize to you personally,” Sharpe began.
“I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you—I didn’t know if that was going to be possible… I… told a joke and I said it in jest, but I believe the joke would have been just as funny had I left you out of it.”
Shannon Sharpe acknowledged the “unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment” his comments might have caused Megan Thee Stallion and her family. Megan accepted the apology sincerely, placing her hands over her heart in appreciation.
