Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, found themselves in the spotlight for an unexpected reason after a court appearance last week. In a now-viral video, the “Beautiful Girls” singer and his mom were caught on camera trying to dodge reporters, creating a moment that has since taken social media by storm.
Captured by Florida’s Local 10 News on Friday (August 23), the clip shows Kingston sprinting towards his car while a persistent reporter chases after him, humorously commenting, “Sean, it looks ridiculous running like that!”
Not far behind, Turner is seen jogging with a smile, playfully waving her hands at the camera before hopping into the vehicle.
The humorous escape occurred as the duo was leaving their federal arraignment, where they both pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. They also requested a trial by jury.
The charges against them involve an alleged scheme to acquire over $1 million worth of high-end jewelry and other luxury items using fraudulent documents.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, Kingston (whose real name is Kisean Anderson) and Turner are accused of “unjustly enriching themselves by falsely representing that they had executed bank wire or other monetary payment transfers” to obtain the valuable items.
The court case has already drawn significant attention, but it’s the mother-son duo’s dash from the courthouse that has truly captivated the internet, adding a new layer of intrigue to their ongoing legal saga.
