Rapper Rick Ross recently shared his admiration for Kanye West’s impact on the fashion industry, particularly reflecting on the significant influence of West’s debut footwear sensation from a decade ago.
During a gathering organized by Got Sole in Miami, Florida on February 18th, Rick Ross graced the event with his presence. Attendees seized the opportunity to inquire about Kanye West’s iconic Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers, which made waves upon their release in 2014.
In a moment of genuine appreciation, Ross lifted a pair of the coveted sneakers and expressed, “This creation right here was truly groundbreaking.”
Reflecting on his personal experience with the shoes, he continued, “Those grey ones with hints of guava, or pink as some may call them, were simply exceptional. I remember wearing them daily.”
Ross went on to highlight the profound artistic genius behind West’s work, acknowledging the significance of the collaboration during their shared tenure at Def Jam Recordings.
“It’s remarkable to recognize the depth of creativity in hindsight. That era, when Kanye and I were both part of Def Jam, was truly special,” he remarked.
