Rich The Kid’s album release party for his latest drop, “Carnival,” was hit with unexpected drama when legal troubles from his past resurfaced. TMZ Hip Hop captured exclusive footage of the moment Rich The Kid was served court papers just as he was about to enter Grandmaster Recordings in Hollywood.
In the video, Rich and his entourage are seen approaching the venue when a process server catches him and hands over an envelope filled with legal documents.
The papers, obtained by TMZ, come from attorney Baruch C. Cohen, representing Peter Marco, Rich’s former jeweler. Marco has been pursuing a $234,000 lawsuit against Rich The Kid since 2020, claiming the rapper stopped making payments on a jewelry tab.
Despite the disruption, Rich The Kid didn’t let it ruin his night. Inside the party, he was seen enjoying himself with his wife, Tori Brixx, and fellow artist DDG. The celebration included a preview of his new album, featuring tracks like “Not In The Mood,” a collaboration with Offset.
The legal hiccup didn’t dampen the excitement for Rich The Kid, who humorously announced on social media, “ACTUALLY WE DROPPING FRIDAY 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 7/19.”
